Membership Terms
The Rogue Room, 4 Chance Street, London E1 6JT By purchasing a membership, you agree to the following terms. Current prices, class credit values, membership benefits, class cancellation charges and freeze allowances are published at therogueroom.com/memberships.
1. Payment cycles
Your billing date is the day your payment is taken and the first day of each new payment cycle. A payment cycle runs from one billing date to the day before the next. A completed payment cycle is one that has been paid in full and has ended. All notice periods in this agreement are counted in payment cycles, rather than calendar months, and are not pro-rated. Your membership activates on the date of your first visit, not the date of purchase, and this date sets your billing date. If you have not attended within 30 days of purchase, your membership will activate automatically on day 31. Membership is billed one payment cycle in advance by recurring card payment. You authorise us to take payment on your billing date at the start of each cycle, including any applicable late cancellation or no-show charges. If a payment fails, your class access will be suspended until your account is settled. A failed payment does not count as a completed payment cycle or towards your notice period.
2. Rolling memberships, no fixed term
Our standard rolling memberships have no minimum term. You can give notice to cancel at any time. We simply require two full payment cycles' notice. Annual memberships run for twelve payment cycles, are paid in full at the point of purchase and carry no notice period. They do not renew automatically; we will contact you before yours expires. Some promotional, fixed-term or specialist memberships may have different terms. Where this applies, we will make it clear at the point of purchase.
3. What your membership includes
Your membership gives you access to the classes and facilities listed for it at therogueroom.com/memberships. Some classes and facilities sit outside standard membership access and are charged separately. This applies where a format is capacity-limited by equipment, or where a facility carries its own running costs. Where this is the case, it is stated clearly on our website and at the point of booking, and members pay a preferential rate. We may add new classes or facilities to the studio from time to time. New additions may be included in membership access or offered as a separately charged extra, and we will make this clear when they launch. Where a class or facility is included in membership on launch, we may review that arrangement and will give reasonable written notice of any change under section 11.
4. Cancelling your membership
To cancel, email info@therogueroom.com. We will confirm receipt of your cancellation request and your final billing date within three working days. Notice given verbally, to a teacher, or through the app alone is not valid notice. We require two full payment cycles' notice to cancel a rolling membership. Your notice takes effect from your next billing date. If your cancellation request is received on or before your billing date, that payment cycle counts as the first cycle of your notice period. If it is received after your billing date, your notice period begins from your following billing date. Your membership remains fully active throughout your notice period, so you can continue to book and attend classes as normal.
5. Your notice period
Your notice period cannot be shortened by freezing, downgrading, stopping attendance or removing your payment method. Downgrading. If you move to a lower-priced membership after giving notice, your remaining notice cycles will be charged at the membership rate you held when notice was received. Freezing. A freeze cannot be taken during a notice period and cannot be used as part of it. If your membership is frozen when you give notice, your notice period begins when the freeze ends. Payment method. You must keep a valid payment method on your account throughout your membership and notice period. Removing your card, cancelling the recurring payment in the app or instructing your bank to stop payment does not constitute notice and does not end your membership. If our system marks your membership as cancelled following a failed or removed payment, this is considered a payment failure rather than a valid cancellation. Access will be suspended and outstanding payments will remain payable. Backdating. Cancellation cannot be backdated, including where you have stopped attending, been travelling or believed that you had already cancelled. Memberships are personal to the named holder and cannot be shared or transferred. Membership payments are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly provided for in these terms.
6. Promotional and discounted memberships
From time to time, we may offer introductory prices, promotional discounts or other membership incentives. Unless clearly stated otherwise at the point of purchase, promotional and discounted memberships remain subject to our standard cancellation policy. A promotional or discounted payment cycle cannot be used as part of your notice period. Your two-cycle notice period is served at the standard rate of your membership. Any additional conditions attached to a particular promotion will be clearly stated at the point of purchase.
7. Early release
We know circumstances can change. We will allow you to end your membership without further payment where: an injury, illness or pregnancy-related complication prevents you from training for three months or more; you permanently move home more than 15 miles from the studio; you lose your employment; or you experience a significant and unforeseen change in your financial circumstances. We may ask for reasonable evidence to support an early-release request. We would always rather talk than lose you. If you're not attending as often as you'd hoped or your circumstances have changed, email us before cancelling. A freeze or move to a different membership may suit you better.
8. Freezing your membership
Freezes are available subject to the allowances published on our website. A freeze must be requested by email at least 48 hours in advance, runs in whole payment cycles from your billing date and cannot be backdated. During a freeze, both billing and membership access are paused. A frozen cycle does not count towards your notice period. Your membership and billing resume when the agreed freeze ends.
9. Booking, class cancellation and no-shows
Classes may be booked in advance through our app or website. Some classes are capacity-capped for equipment and safety reasons, and spaces are limited. Late cancellation and no-show charges apply and are published at therogueroom.com/memberships. Charges are taken from the payment method on your account. Latecomers may not be admitted once a class has begun, for safety reasons. Repeated no-shows may result in booking restrictions. Bookings made through third-party platforms are governed by that platform's own terms, including their cancellation charges, which we are unable to waive or override.
10. Timetable, teachers and programming
The Rogue Room is a live studio and our timetable and programming will evolve. We may make reasonable changes to class times, teachers, class formats, programming and the use or availability of individual studio spaces. Individual classes may occasionally be changed or cancelled. These reasonable operational changes do not constitute a change to your membership agreement.
11. Changes to memberships and prices
We may make reasonable changes to membership benefits, credit values or other membership features from time to time. If we make a material change to the core benefits of your membership, we will give you reasonable written notice. We will give you at least one full payment cycle's written notice of any price increase affecting your membership. If you do not wish to continue following a material change or price increase, you can cancel under your standard notice period. If you cancel because of a price increase, your existing membership price will continue throughout your notice period and the increase will not apply to you.
12. Health, safety and participation
By taking part, you confirm that you are in good physical health and know of no medical condition, injury or impairment that would make participation unsafe. You agree to tell us about any condition, injury, medication or pregnancy that may affect your participation, and to let us know of any change. Our teachers are not medical practitioners and nothing offered at the studio constitutes medical advice. We recommend consulting a doctor before beginning any new exercise programme. Physical exercise, including calisthenics, handstands, inversions, resistance work and dynamic yoga, carries an inherent risk of injury. You take part voluntarily, agree to work within your own limits, follow teacher instruction, use equipment only as directed and stop if you experience pain, dizziness or distress. Classes may involve loud music, low light, strobing or pixel-mapped lighting effects, heat, and hands-on assistance from a teacher. You may decline hands-on assistance at any time by telling the teacher. You are responsible for your own belongings. We do not accept liability for loss of or damage to personal property. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Studio conduct and membership access
The Rogue Room is committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for our members, guests, teachers and team. We may suspend or terminate a membership in cases of serious or repeated misconduct, including abusive or threatening behaviour, harassment, deliberate damage to property or behaviour that places another person at risk. Where appropriate, we will contact you before taking action. In cases involving serious safety concerns or misconduct, membership access may be suspended immediately.
14. Legacy memberships
Some memberships are closed and no longer available to purchase. Members still holding a legacy rate continue on the terms agreed at the time of joining, for as long as they continue to renew without a break. Legacy rates are personal to the named holder, cannot be transferred, and cannot be reinstated once a membership lapses or is cancelled. They are not available to purchase and do not appear in our published pricing.
15. Your data and photography
We hold your details to administer your membership, take payment and contact you about classes and studio news. Data is processed through our booking platform and email provider. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or unsubscribe from marketing, at any time by emailing info@therogueroom.com. Photography and filming take place in the studio and at events for marketing purposes. Please tell any member of the team if you would prefer not to appear and we will respect that.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, operations or legal requirements. Where a change materially affects your membership, we will give you reasonable written notice before it takes effect. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Questions? Membership should be straightforward. If you're unsure about your billing date, notice period, freeze or cancellation, email info@therogueroom.com or speak to the team at Chance Street. We would always rather answer a question than have you guess.
